If you see the error message when updating the firmware, it could be due to the charging state of the battery.
Unplug the Airmonitor from mains power, let the charging state drop to 98%, then plug the Airmonitor back to a power source. The update will now install correctly.
You will then need to recalibrate the C02 sensor by pressing the rear button 3 times to complete the update.
